What is Idaho Gives ?
Idaho Gives is a single day of statewide charitable giving, celebrating the diversity of our nonprofit organizations and allowing people to learn about and contribute to their critical work. On May 1st, thousands of people will show their support for Idaho’s nonprofits by making an online donation through the Idaho Gives website to their favorite organization(s). Individual donations to nonprofits will have an even greater impact during Idaho Gives, thanks to a pool of award money provided by generous sponsors and individuals.
Who can participate in Idaho Gives?
Anyone can make a donation at the Idaho Gives website from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm MDT on May 1st. Individuals may also schedule a donation prior to May 1st through the Idaho Gives website. Scheduled donations will be processed on May 1st. The minimum giving level is $10, and donations may be made via credit or debit card.
All 501(c)(3) public charities based or with significant service delivery in Idaho are eligible to receive donations once registered for Idaho Gives. Categories of participating nonprofits include health and human services, arts and culture, children and families, parks, and more.
How do I make a donation?
Search for participating nonprofit organizations by name, keyword or location using the search box. Select an organization and donation amount then make your donation through a user account or as a guest. User accounts make it possible to schedule a donation before May 1st or initiate multiple donations throughout the day.
Can I pre-schedule my donation for Idaho Gives?
In the weeks leading up to Idaho Gives, donors can pre-schedule a donation that will be included in the 24-hour event on May 1st. To do so, a donor will need to create a Razoo user account so Razoo can securely save donation information for processing during Idaho Gives. On May 1st, all scheduled donations will be processed and a user's card charged with the donation transaction information previously saved. The user will receive an email with a tax-deductible receipt when the donation transaction is complete. Follow these simple steps to schedule a donation:
- Select "Schedule My Donation" at idahogives.org
- Search for the nonprofit you wish to donate to (up to 5 donations at a time)
- Select green "Donate Now" option on each nonprofit’s page
- Create a user account as prompted*
- "Complete" your donation
- Receive confirmation email outlining the details of your pre-scheduled donation
*In order to schedule a donation, a donor must save his/her credit card information in a secure Razoo user account. If a donor does not want card information stored, he/she will need to return on May 1st to make a live donation during Idaho Gives.
What if the nonprofit I want to donate is not listed?
Try to search on a different keyword or more exact location. Remember that some organizations may provide services in your community but have a home office in another town. If the organization you are looking for is not participating in this year’s Idaho Gives, please consider giving to one of the many participating nonprofits.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
100% of donations through Idaho Gives are tax deductible. No goods or services may be received in exchange for a donation, in accordance with IRS rules.
How much of my donation will go to the nonprofit I select?
93.1% of every donation will go the organization designated by the donor. To cover the costs of the technology platform, bank fees and the organization and promotion of the day, a 6.9% administrative fee will be assessed. Your receipt will reflect 100% of your donation amount.
What is the Razoo Foundation?
The Razoo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides online charitable giving solutions to support a new era in philanthropy. By leveraging secure and efficient technologies, the Razoo Foundation seeks to provide high-value, low-cost, end-to-end solutions for donors and nonprofits to easily fundraise and engage in charitable giving activities.
Who will receive my contact information?
The organization you choose to support will receive your name and contact information, unless you choose to make an anonymous contribution. As the host and sponsor of Idaho Gives, the Idaho Nonprofit Center will also receive contact information, but agrees not to share that information or contact individual donors for any reason.
Do I have to establish a Razoo account in order to give?
No. However, if you wish to make multiple donations, creating an account with Razoo (the technology platform provider) simplifies the process. An account allows you to enter your contact and credit card information once en route to making multiple donations. A Razoo account also enables you to track your donations, view receipts in one location and review the charities you support.
How do I get a receipt for tax purposes?
Once your donation is successfully processed, the Razoo Foundation emails a receipt to you immediately. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please retain your receipt as an official record. If you misplace the email receipt, you can view your giving history and receipts by logging into your Razoo account. Alternatively, request a duplicate receipt by emailing email@example.com. Be sure to include your name, donation date, amount and name of your designated nonprofit.

Given the economic challenges of recent years, nonprofits have been asked to play an ever-growing role in serving our communities and are often trying to do so with shrinking resources. The Idaho Nonprofit Center’s mission is to provide resources to build strong nonprofits. Idaho Gives serves that mission by shining the spotlight on the great work done by nonprofits and by helping organizations reach donors through new avenues.
Which organizations are eligible to participate in Idaho Gives?
All organizations with an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) designation that have significant service delivery and/or have their headquarters in Idaho qualify to participate in Idaho Gives. Categories of participating nonprofits include health and human services, arts and culture, children and families, education, and many more.
Why should our nonprofit participate in Idaho Gives?
Idaho Gives provides your nonprofit with the opportunity to showcase and promote the work that you do. This 24-hour, online giving blitz is designed to not only help your organization raise funds immediately but also build long-term capacity to do so. We want to help you attract new donors utilizing online and social media tools to expand your reach and strengthen your connection to donors.
In addition, cash prizes will be awarded throughout the day. The prizes are designed to encourage creative donor outreach strategies. Your active promotion of your participation in Idaho Gives will increase your chances of winning.
How does a nonprofit register for Idaho Gives?
Visit the Idaho Nonprofit Center first to initiate your registration. Registration is required for both returning and first-time organizations. Nonprofit members of the Idaho Nonprofit Center can participate for free while non-members will be assessed a $25 fee. Once registered and approved, you may activate your participation with Razoo and build or edit your page.
How much of every donation will a participating nonprofit receive?
93% of every donation will go the organization designated by the donor. To cover the costs of the technology platform as well as organization and promotion of this day of giving statewide, a 6.9% administrative fee will be assessed. Please remember that, in accordance with IRS rules, no goods or services may be offered to donors in exchange for donations.
How will Idaho Gives donations be distributed?
Each donation made to your organization will be disbursed directly from the Razoo Foundation to your nonprofit. Monies will be disbursed by check and arrive in the second half of June. Alternatively, you may sign up for electronic funds transfer (EFT) at www.razoo.com/eft. The EFT sign up deadline is April 1st, in order to receive payment on May 25th.
Prize monies will be distributed by the Idaho Nonprofit Center. Winners will be contacted following the event and payment arrangements will be made at that time.
How do I view donor information?
You can access a real-time donation report by logging into your Idaho Gives administrative account provided by Razoo. Once logged in, your report in under the “Donations” tab of your nonprofit page. You can set the date filter and download the report in a CSV file. Razoo will also provide you with a real-time notice via email of all donations you receive. A disbursement report is also available through your administrative account and allows you to cross-reference transactions regranted in your monthly disbursement. You can access this report by going to the "Donations" tab and clicking on "Disbursements."
Do I need to issue tax receipts to my donors?
No. Razoo will provide receipts to donors who give through Idaho Gives. However, the Idaho Nonprofit Center strongly encourages all nonprofits to send a thank-you note to all donors in conjunction with the receipt provided by Razoo. We want our donors to know how awesome they are!
